TGIF

February 7th

Haven't had any time to myself recently. Maybe I've bit off more than I'm willing to chew with getting this job. Yesterday I got paired up with someone to work on a Psychology assignment for school so I'll be doing that for the next week or so and probably will only be giving short updates on my boring life....

It's Friday night and I'm going straight to bed right after this. (really exhausted so I'm making it quick.)

So remember how I said I was gonna get the bastard twins fired? Turns out I didn't have to. The idiots were playing catch in the store and broke a fish tank. Turns out it's the third time this has happened so I really wasn't surprised that bossman gave them the boot. Now it's just Theodore, Sarah and I until someone else applies for the job but these guys barely did any work to begin with so nothing has really changed. except...well...it's quieter now...and Theodore actually says a few words now and then.

Speaking of the guy, I asked him why he never cuts his hair since it's obviously hindering his eyesight but he just said it wasn't necessary? To each their own?

As far as the psych assignment goes I've gotten this guy Jansen Salazar. He's apparently very popular among the ladies and from what I've seen, he's a huge flirt. I guess he has reason to be. He has such exotic looks. Really shiny blonde hair and green eyes...tanned skin...tall...that type of easy going smile...definitely doesn't seem like we'll be getting along. From my experience with that type, they don't generally take anything in life seriously and I really don't have time for someone like that.

*yawn* He's meeting up with me tomorrow so we'll see how that goes...

I can't take this anymore I'm going to bed

'Night

[A/N: I said i'd never do this but I really am busy at school and this isn't really as important a project to me to continue so the amount of times it gets updated will be limitted from now on. Also I didn't proofread so LOL Errors and Typos]

The First Day

February 3rd

What the fuck was I thinking this was a horrible idea. I didn't realize how difficult working with other people AND animals could be! *yawn* I'm tired as hell but I have a sense of duty so I'm reporting in on the first day of my job regardless....

First off I'll be working every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at PetLand near the park from 2:00 to 5:00pm. Three hours. That doesn't sound like much right? But you have no freaking idea! When I got there the boss sort of briefed me on where everything was and what was expected of me but other than that he told me to ask the other employees if I had any questions and then he disappeared somewhere.

Secondly...These guys are idiots and assholes. I can't deal with them at all! They eat on the job(and they're messy about it too) They don't feed the animals according to their charts if they're too lazy to and they basically dumped all the most irritating jobs on me because I'm new. There were about three guys and one girl.

The girl wasn't really that bad. She was kind at least...She helped me out when I was confused about stuff and she had an impressive size if you know what I mean...but she wasn't very bright it seems. I don't want to discriminate against blondes or anything...But c'mon she isn't giving me much to work with either. Sarah was her name I think. She was basically In charge of customer interactions it seems. I usually saw her lounging around near the register talking to one of the dicks who worked it or helping kids choose good pets but when it came to measuring cups of food or anything mathematical she was as helpful as a slice of cheese. She also seemed to lack common sense in some areas but let's not get into that...

Brandon and Brent the twin dicks (as in they were actually twins) were part timers also who worked the same shift as me but did about a quarter of the required work. As far as i've seen from the first day they only handle pet adoption forms and cash exchanges. If none of that is going on then they're normally in the backroom having loud obnoxious conversations or food fights or these really pointless competitions that they seem to just come up with at any moment's notice. And guess who had to clean up after them today.

that's right

Christen Grant. Isn't he a lucky guy?

Well I wasn't alone persay...This last guy helped me out. He's the strangest of them all. He barely speaks a word and when he does it's usually a mumble of something too hard to understand. He doesn't do anything wrong or stupid. He's probably the most diligent worker there apart from myself. But he's just...weird.

His name is Theodore Lawson but of course HE didn't tell me that. I had to ask Sarah since the guy didn't even look me in the eye once and he was the one who was actually working side by side with me today. Or at least I don't think he looked me in the eye...his head was always down and he has really long curly hair. No I don't think you understand. his head is like this black bush of curls and it covers most of his eyes so if you aren't looking carefully all you really see is from his nose down.

Being around him wasn't as awkward as I'd expected though( does that mean I should or shouldn't worry about him being a serial killer?). I was used to not talking to others so I had no problem with only focusing on my job and getting through the day. Not sure if he felt the same way or not...Maybe he's actually pretty lively and I just caught him on a bad day who knows...I doubt it but this is only my first day....

On a scale of 1-10 i'd give my first working experience a 6.

The people are kind of iffy but to be honest, working with puppies, bunnies, and kittens today was kinda nice. They were sooooo cuuuuttttee....err *cough* don't tell my mom I said that....(The aprons have cute bunnies on them too squee)

Now if only I could get bastard and his twin dumbass fired. It wouldn't be so bad at all. My next mission is clear to me.

That is all

How about a Job?

February 2nd

Guess who's back to attempt this whole awkward fiasco twice in a row. You might not believe it but I actually have something slightly less boring to share this time!

So basically, I was out for a run this afternoon in the park and some idiot came speeding down the path on his bike. He was steering quite recklessly and I don't think he even noticed me until the last minute...but anyway, he panics and tries to avoid me but ends up riding straight into a bench and spraining his ankle. It turns out he was in a hurry because he was going to be late for work. That's sort of understandable but he almost killed me! He did apologize and I probably could have dodged anyway so I didn't hold it against him but he really couldn't move around much so I ended up pushing him on his bike to his workplace which was nearby....

He works at a pet store and it seems they were short on staff recently plus the guy needed a few days off to heal and...Basically what i'm getting at is they offered me a job and I decided to take it. Not exactly what i'd expected to see myself doing two days ago, but since I'm going to be documenting my life from now on I might as well do things worth writing about right?  The Job is part time and I start on Monday. I'll basically just be taking care of the animals with about four other employees. I won't get to deal with any actual pet adoptions.

I'm doing good huh? I'm being spontaneous! As long as I stay focused this should be a very valuable experience for me. Oh I'm going to the gym in a few minutes so I guess I can stop with this for today...

Getting Started

February 1st.

This is a fitting way to begin isn't it? The first of a month I mean...Sigh why am i doing this? I don't write, this isn't me at all...but mom did say to give it a try...Well here goes nothing...

Hello imaginary readers who I've apparently just begun writing to. I'm Christen Grant and I have no idea why i'm here right now. Well, yes I do it's because my ever so 'helpful' mother believes that I've been becoming a very dull adult who does nothing but follow a schedule and get through each day (but is there really anything wrong with that? It's not harming me and i'm not sad after all) and she somehow thinks that's mentally unhealthy. Also something about me not having anyone to talk to and living on my own...

Anyway, I'm not sure how sitting at my laptop for about 15 minutes a day and talking to myself about things i feel and experience is going to improve my life but I've got the time and she's worried about me so if this will help calm my mom down i'll give it a go.

But I REALLY don't know how i'm supposed to DO this! What do I talk about?? Nothing interesting happens to me. My Family is well off so I have no struggles with paying rent or school fees even though I live alone now and no one interesting ever comes to visit me. I spend most of my extra time lifting weights or running and I'm not in love so there really isn't anything I want to share about my life. How am I even expected to make it through the week with this thing? Should I try talking about what I did Today? Or maybe since this is my first entry I should describe myself more?? Maybe i'm thinking too much about this. I'm probably just being weird right?

Sigh Okay I guess I'll start with describing myself. I've already said my name. Christen...yeah... and I'm a guy...Well i'm about 177 cm right now. I have brown eyes and hair; speaking of which it's getting kinda long...maybe I should schedule a hair cut? I'll be able to put it in a proper ponytail soon after all. Ahem...Anything else? I'm currently living In this way too big apartment which my mom picked out for me but it's about a 10 minute walk from the campus so I really shouldn't be complaining(The thing has like three bedrooms though. What am I meant to do with all this space?). I guess I'm pretty smart...As long as I don't slack off I really have no problems with my grades at all. I'm Single...no duh. It's not like I'm ugly or anything (not trying to be vain but I take a lot of pride in the body I work so hard everyday to train and maintain!) and I've had girlfriends before; In high school for example, but they've always ended it fairly quickly with the girl saying something like she doesn't feel like I'm actually looking at her or that I'm interested. What is that even supposed to mean? I'm nice. I take them out. I do all the things a normal boyfriend would do but it never seemed to be enough for them. Yeah...So I've decided to lay off women for awhile.

It's Saturday night now and it's about 10:30. I have a schedule to keep and homework to finish...I think I did fairly well for my first go didn't I? Definitely didn't expect to write this much. I guess giving this a try again tomorrow won't be such a bad idea.
